The One With All The Christmases- The Complete List Of Friends Christmas Episodes

The Christmas episodes of Friends are some of my favorites.  Snowy scenes around New York, a festive Central Perk and the cozy decorated apartments are the absolute best.  I would pay good money to have Monica Gellar come and decorate my tree.

Each Episode brings its own unique holiday cheer full of laughs and heartwarming moments. In fact we even included a few Christmas adjacent episodes that simply can’t be left out to keep you in the holiday spirit!

Enjoy Christmas with your Friends and catch all your favorite seasonal episodes!

Season 1, Episode 10- The One With The Monkey

“All right! You guys, it’s starting to snow. And look, Ugly Naked Guy is hanging candy canes.” Phoebe

Some may argue this isn’t a true Christmas episode, but we think it counts. Chandler tries to get the group to plan a no-date New Years Eve, which none of them want to do, despite being single.  Phoebe meets David, but he is moving to Minsk. Ross gets a monkey named Marcel and it’s his first appearance in the series.

Rachel gets into a fight with another girl. Monica invites Fun Bobby who is no longer much fun. Joey’s date brings her kids to the New Years party and ends up kissing David’s friend and not Joey. The gang all ends up on a no-date New Years Eve even though they tried hard to avoid it.

Season 2, Episode 9-The One With Phoebe’s Dad

“Happy “Christmas Eve” Eve.” Phoebe

Phoebe spends this episode trying to build up the courage to visit her Dad who she hasn’t seen since she was a child. Joey and Chandler offer emotional support and offer to go with her.  They wait so long, she never knocks on the door, that they are too late to buy gifts for the rest of the gang.  They end up shopping at a gas station.

Rachel makes a pros and cons list about Ross. Ross wants Rachel to forgive him. Rachel and Monica have a Christmas party and the heater breaks. The apartment gets very hot. The 6 friends exchange gifts in the girl’s apartment.

Season 3, Episode 10- The One Where Rachel Quits

“It’s like ‘Night of the Living Dead’ Christmas Trees.” Chandler

Rachel quits her job at Central Perk after Gunther tries to retrain her. Joey works at a Christmas tree lot and it makes Phoebe upset. To make her feel better, about all the dead trees, he brings her all the unsellable trees on Christmas Eve.

Ross accidentally breaks a little girl’s leg so he helps sell her Brown Bird cookies to win a special trip to space camp.  Monica remembers being a Brown Bird.

Season 4, Episode 10- The One With The Girl From Poughkeepsie

“Monica, Monica, Have a Happy Hanukkah, Saw Santa Claus, He said hello to Ross…” Phoebe

Ross meets a girl from Poukeepsie on the train, but has trouble with the distance.  Monica is getting picked on at work and hires Joey so she can fire him in front of everyone.  It backfires, before finally working out, when Joey refuses to be fired because he is making such good tips as a waiter. Chandler sets up Rachel with a co-worker. The one with Phoebe’s Christmas song at Central Perk.

Season 5, Episode 10- The One With The Inappropriate Sister

“Happy holidays. Feliz Navidad. Allo and Merry Christmas.” Phoebe

Ross is on sabbatical and very bored. He annoys Joey and Chandler. Phoebe is collecting money for charity as a bellringer and runs into lots of rude people on the street. Rachel starts to date Danny who lives in the building, but calls it off after he is way too close with his sister. Monica and Chandler are hiding their relationship from the group, (everyone except Joey who figured it out already).

Season 5, Episode 11- The One With All The Resolutions

“You know what? I’m gonna go out on a limb and say, ‘No divorces in ’99!'” Ross

This is the episode where Rachel finds out about Monica and Chandler when she overhears their phone conversation.  Unfortunately for her, the gang all made New Year’s resolutions and hers was not to gossip.  She is tormented with not being able to tell anyone.  By the end of the episode she and Joey both realize they know.

Here are the gang’s resolutions; Ross-to be happy, Phoebe-pilot a commercial jet, Chandler-not to make fun of anyone, Monica-to take more photos, and Joey-wants to learn one skill he already has on his resume.

Season 6, Episode 10- The One With The Routine

“Dear Losers, do you really think I’d hide presents under the couch? P.S. Chandler, I knew they’d break you.” Rachel

Monica and Ross get to dance at a taping for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. They aren’t getting much camera time so they do a dance they created as kids called ‘The Routine.’

Joey’s new roommate Janine kisses him at their apartment. Rachel, Phoebe and Chandler desperately search for the gifts Monica bought for the group.

Season 7, Episode 9- The One With All The Candy

“Some people have said it’s “little drops of heaven.” But whatever.” Monica

Monica makes candy for the neighbors and things get out of hand.  An angry mob forms in the hallway demanding more candy and Chandler stands up for her.  Rachel is dating Tag, one of her employees.  Ross gets Phoebe a bike when he finds out she never learned to ride as a kid and teaches her to ride with training wheels.

Season 7, Episode 10- The One With The Holiday Armadillo

“But I didn’t get to shake my belly like a bowl full of Jelly!” Chandler

Such a classic episode featuring Ross as the Holiday Armadillo trying to teach his son Ben about Hanukkah and compete with ex-wife Carol who dresses up as Santa each year.  Joey and Chandler both try to help. Joey as Superman and Chandler as Santa.

Season 8, Episode 11- The One With Ross’ Step Forward /The One With The Creepy Holiday Card.

“Married couples send out cards, families send out cards, people who have been dating for a couple of months do not send out cards! What-what is she crazy?!” Ross

This episode sees Ross reluctant to agree to Mona’s idea for a couple’s Christmas card. He tries to talk with her and it goes badly, so much so that he gives her a key to his apartment. The only problem is it’s the only key so he changes the locks.

Rachel is pregnant and lusting after Joey and Ross. Chandler is trying to avoid his recently divorced boss.

Season 9, Episode 10- The One With Christmas In Tulsa

“Say goodbye, elves. I’m off to Tulsa.” Chandler

Chandler took a new job and must spend the holidays in Tulsa working. The episode is filled with fun flashbacks of previous holidays where the gang is all together. The Christmas flashbacks are from The One with the Girl From Poughkeepsie, The One with the Routine, The One with Phoebe’s Dad and The One with the Holiday Armadillo.

Chandler quits his job and heads home to New York just in time to surprise everyone and watch snow fall out the apartment window.  This is the last Christmas episode of the series.
